| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre features the Air France logo as used in 1946, depicting a stylised winged horse (Pegasus) accompanied by radiating arc lines suggestive of speed and flight, rendered in a bold graphic style. The brass outer ring carries the denomination legend '3 EURO' at the top and the inscription 'd'AIR FRANCE' at the bottom, flanked on both sides by the date '16 novembre 1996' running vertically. Small circular pellets serve as decorative stops between the inscriptions. The engraver's signature 'CARDOT' appears in the lower right of the ring. |
