| Beschrijving keerzijde | The coat of arms of Cogolin occupies the central field, depicted as a heraldic shield divided into two horizontal sections: the upper section features a Gallic rooster standing within a circular cartouche, and the lower section bears a flowering plant. The denomination numeral '3' appears to the left of the shield and the word 'EURO' to the right. The legend '20 SEPTEMBRE - 5 OCTOBRE 1996' curves along the upper periphery, with 'DE COGOLIN' inscribed along the lower rim. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Cogolin's 3 euro piece is a product of the brief French local currency experiment permitted under EU transitional rules between 1996 and 1997, when hundreds of municipalities issued their own denominations ahead of the euro's launch. The Var commune is better known for its pipe-making workshops and the cork industry than for monetary ambition, which makes the issue more a tourist curiosity than a civic statement.
