Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Carl XI facing left, rendered in high relief with flowing long hair. The king's effigy is shown with a laurel wreath and armored or draped shoulders, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The peripheral Latin legend encircles the bust, reading from lower left around the top of the flan.

Obverse lettering CAROLUS · REX · SVECIÆ
(Translation: Karl XI King of Sweden.)
Reverse description Three Swedish royal crowns arranged in triangular formation — two crowns side by side in the upper field and one crown centered in the lower field — with the date 1662 flanking the lower crown on either side. The mintmaster's initials G.W appear in the exergue at the bottom of the field. The design is stark and heraldic, with no peripheral legend, the three crowns constituting the principal arms of the Swedish realm.
