Obverse description Saint Rupert depicted standing in full figure behind a heraldic shield bearing the combined arms of Salzburg and of the Archbishop, all within a beaded inner circle. The saint is rendered in episcopal vestments in a formal, devotional style characteristic of late Renaissance ecclesiastical coinage. The surrounding legend, divided by the shield, identifies the patron saint of Salzburg in abbreviated Latin.
