Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Leopold I facing right, wearing an elaborate flowing wig and armored shoulder pauldron with ornate decorative detail. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the Baroque style characteristic of late 17th-century Habsburg coinage. The peripheral legend reads LEOPOLDVS D · G · ROM · I · S · AVG · GER · HVN · BO · REX, separated by stops, running clockwise within a beaded border.

Reverse description Displayed double-headed imperial eagle with wings spread, each head surmounted by a crown, the whole beneath a large imperial crown at the top of the field. On the eagle's breast is an oval escutcheon bearing the arms of Transylvania — three rows of charges representing the traditional Transylvanian heraldic composition. The date 1694 appears divided across the upper field, flanked by the legend DVCATVS NOV · TRANSVLVANIÆ, with the mintmark KV appearing at the base. A beaded border frames the design.
