Reverse description Seven lines of bold Roman capital inscription filling the entire field, recording the melting of sacred and secular treasures to relieve the famine of 1529 in Bologna. A small decorative device, possibly a papal emblem or ornament, appears at the top of the field above the first line of text. The legend is separated by pellets between words, and the date is given in Roman numerals as M·D·XXIX, with BONONIA appearing in the final line. The coin edge shows a milled or grained border.
