Reverse description The reverse, designed by Steve Hepburn, presents a colourful ground-level view of the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, surrounded by a vibrant foreground display of blooming tulips rendered in full colour. The central composition celebrates Canada's spring tulip festivals, most notably Ottawa's renowned Canadian Tulip Festival held each May. Encircling the central scene is a decorative border composed of stylized vignettes representing iconic Canadian attractions and seasonal activities, arranged clockwise from the top: Niagara Falls, a Christmas tree, a rodeo, wine tasting, dog sledding, music festivals, cherry blossoms, maple syrup season, whale watching, tulips in bloom, coastal drives, and the aurora borealis. The reverse legend reads CANADA, with the designer's initials SH appearing in the field.
