The "Strawberry Moon" is the traditional Algonquin name for the full moon occurring in June, marking the brief window when wild strawberries ripen across northeastern North America. The Royal Canadian Mint's $3 glow-in-the-dark series, of which this is one entry, uses a phosphorescent coating applied during production — not a post-mint treatment — achieving the luminescent effect through a manufacturing process the Mint developed and refined over several years of collector-market releases in the 2010s.
