| Opis rewersu | The reverse depicts two stages of the Monarch butterfly life cycle rendered with exceptional naturalistic detail. At center, a fully coloured Monarch caterpillar (Danaus plexippus), with distinctive yellow, white, and black banding, crawls along a vivid green milkweed leaf rendered in selective colour application. A large silver-finished chrysalis occupies the left-center field, its segmented surface engraved in fine relief, while a delicate tracery of bare branch outlines fills the background field. The denomination '3 DOLLARS' arcs along the upper legend, 'CANADA' along the lower, with the date '2014' to the right and the engraver's initials 'TT' to the lower left. |
