Reverse description A stylized barn owl (Tyto alba) is depicted standing upright and facing left in bold, simplified relief, occupying the central field of the square flan. Behind the owl, a large circular form suggesting a full moon rises against a subtly engraved geometric background composed of intersecting diagonal lines evoking a natural habitat. The gold plating imparts a warm luminous tone to the entire design. The denomination 3 DOLLARS appears vertically along the right margin, while the inscription CANADA 2010 is engraved along the lower edge of the flan.
