正面铭文 3 DOLLARS PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI 2024
背面描述 The central wood insert displays a full-length, colored medieval effigy of Wenceslaus IV of Bohemia, depicted in the style of a Gothic illuminated manuscript. The king is shown crowned with a leafy crown, robed in a blue mantle over red garments with gold trim, holding a tall sceptre or scroll in his right hand. To the left of the figure, the Bohemian eagle coat of arms is rendered in color against a yellow field. The legend 'VÁCLAV IV. LUCEMBURSKÝ' arcs around the upper portion of the silver ring in incuse letters. The ornate silver outer ring mirrors the obverse with Gothic foliate and quatrefoil decorative relief work.

附加信息

The wood-core bimetallic format used here traces directly to Czech artist and mint-tech collaborations that gained traction in the 2010s, with the Münze Österreich and later private minting houses developing inlay techniques capable of bonding organic material to precious metal under sufficient pressure without cracking. Niue, whose name appears on the coin purely by licensing arrangement with New Zealand, has no connection to the subject — Charles IV of Bohemia, Holy Roman Emperor, who founded Prague's Charles University in 1348 and commissioned the Charles Bridge the same year.

The wood species used in the centre is almost certainly sourced to match a Bohemian or Central European provenance, a detail worth confirming against the original mint documentation.
