背面描述 The central wood insert features a full-color portrait of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia, depicted in regal attire comprising a jewelled gold crown, an ornate golden collar, and a red ceremonial mantle trimmed with ermine. He holds a golden sceptre in his right hand, presented in a frontal, dignified pose characteristic of medieval royal portraiture. To the upper left of the figure, the heraldic shield of the Holy Roman Empire bearing a black eagle on a golden field is shown in color. The legend 'KAREL IV. LUCEMBURSKÝ' curves along the upper portion of the silver ring in large incuse lettering. The decorative silver ring repeats the elaborate Gothic foliate and quatrefoil ornamental border seen on the obverse.

附加信息

Niue has become one of the more prolific issuers of novelty legal tender since the 1990s, operating effectively as a licensing vehicle for foreign mints — this piece, with its embedded wood centre cast within a fine silver ring, falls squarely into that category. The bimetallic wood-in-metal format has been used by a handful of mints since the mid-2000s, with the Austrian Mint among the earliest to commercialize it at scale.

The Charles III / Charles IV pairing almost certainly references the Spanish monarchs rather than British ones, given Niue's Pacific issuing history and the commercial appeal of Spanish colonial numismatics.
