| Obverse description | Central intaglio vignette of Ina, the legendary Polynesian figure, nude and riding astride Mango the shark, holding a coconut, her hair streaming in the wind; the composition set against a multicolour guilloche underprint with swirling wave patterns and a sun motif to the right. The denomination numeral '3' appears in the upper-right corner and again at lower left, with the issuer name 'Cook Islands' in stylised lettering across the top.
