Obverse description Round cast iron cash coin featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square rim. The four-character reign title legend 慶元元寶 (Qingyuan Yuanbao) is disposed in cruciform arrangement around the central hole, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left in the conventional Chinese numismatic format. The characters are rendered in regular script (kaishu) with bold, deeply incuse strokes rising against a flat, unadorned field. A plain raised outer rim encircles the entire design, typical of Southern Song dynasty cast coinage.
