| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast iron cash coin featuring four Chinese ideograms in Regular script (Kaishu) arranged radially around a central square perforation, reading clockwise: 嘉 (Jiā), 定 (Dìng), 崇 (Chóng), 寶 (Bǎo). The legend 嘉定崇寶 identifies the coin as a three-cash denomination issued during the Jiading reign era (1208–1224) of Emperor Ningzong of the Southern Song dynasty. The characters are boldly rendered in sunken relief against a flat field, with a raised inner rim surrounding the square hole and a raised outer rim encircling the coin. |
