| Obverse description | Central square hole flanked by four Chinese characters in seal script (zhuanshu), reading clockwise from the top: 阜 (Fu), 昌 (Chang), 寶 (Bao), 重 (Zhong), forming the legend 阜昌重寶 (Fuchang Zhongbao). The characters are boldly cast within a plain inner rim, with a broad, flat outer field bounded by a raised circular rim. The overall style is consistent with Northern Song-influenced cast bronze cash of the Jin puppet state of Qi. |
