The apsar is a currency unit issued solely by the Bank of Abkhazia, a partially recognized breakaway republic whose independence is acknowledged by fewer than a handful of UN member states. These coins hold no practical monetary function — Abkhazia uses the Russian ruble in daily commerce — making the apsar series effectively a sovereign collectible program, issued with an eye on the international numismatic market rather than any domestic economy.

Yutyrannus huali, the subject here, was described formally in 2012 from specimens recovered in Liaoning Province, China. At roughly nine meters in length, it remains the largest known feathered dinosaur, inferred from preserved filamentous integument on all three holotype individuals.
