| Obverse description | Issued on 20 August 1923 from Düsseldorf, the note is printed in rose-brown on a fine guilloche underprint with an intricate lace-like border. The denomination "Drei Millionen Mark" is set in large blackletter (Fraktur) typeface at the centre, with the numeral "3 000 000" repeated in each corner and vertically along both side margins. Below the denomination, a three-line text clause states the bearer payment obligation, followed by the place and date of issue, the issuer's name "Landesbank der Rheinprovinz," and a manuscript signature of the General-Direktion; the printer's imprint "Bachem, Köln" appears at the foot. |
