Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Deventer — a rampant lion in the upper-left quarter — surmounted by an ornate crown with foliate finials and flanked by decorative scrollwork supporters. The denomination numeral '28' appears in a beaded oval cartouche at the base of the design. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition within a beaded border: FLOR.ARG.CI(28).IMP.DAVEN, indicating this is an imperial silver florin of the city of Deventer.
