| 正面描述 | Laureate and bearded head of Zeus facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curling hair and full beard in the Hellenistic tradition. A thunderbolt symbol is positioned in the field before the deity's face. The portrait is bold and expressive, filling the flan, with no encircling legend. The style reflects the late Hellenistic civic coinage of Crete. |

Kydas appears in the eponymous magistrate series at Knossos during the final convulsions of the Roman civil wars, a period when Crete — absorbed as a Roman province in 67 BC following Metellus's brutal campaign — was still finding its administrative footing under the new order. The magistrate's name is rendered in the Doric dialect consistent with Cretan epigraphy, and the series spans enough die combinations in Svoronos to suggest a reasonably sustained term or repeated tenure.
