| 备注 |
The 1960 series was part of Bank Indonesia's broader effort to consolidate the chaotic currency situation inherited from the Dutch colonial period and the subsequent revolutionary years. Indonesia had been issuing notes under various authorities since 1945, and the 1960 releases represented a more deliberate attempt at a unified, professionally produced national currency — hence the commission to De La Rue in London rather than relying on domestic or regional printing capacity.
The 2500 Rupiah denomination was the highest value in this particular series, issued at a time when inflation was already eroding purchasing power significantly under Sukarno's Guided Democracy economic policies.
