| 背面描述 | A conjoined portrait group occupies the central field, depicting Princess Diana flanked by her two sons, Prince William to the left and Prince Harry to the right, all rendered in high-relief frosted portraiture against a mirror-polished background. The curved legend IN MEMORY OF A PRINCESS arcs along the upper periphery in an italic script. The dates 1961 and 1997, denoting the Princess's birth and death years, appear vertically along the left and right inner borders respectively, flanking the portrait group. The name DIANA is inscribed in bold capitals along the lower periphery, separated from the dates by small ornamental devices. |

Issued the same year Diana died, this is one of hundreds of memorial coins flooded onto the commemorative market by minor issuing authorities in the months following the August 1997 Paris crash. Zambia's 2500 Kwacha denomination was essentially fictitious as a circulating unit — the face value was nominal, the coin aimed squarely at overseas collector markets through mail-order and Bradford Exchange-style distributors.
The billon composition — barely half silver — was typical of budget commemorative programs where the silver content is just high enough to print "silver" on the packaging.
