| Obverse description | Right-facing laureate bust of Zeus, rendered with a deeply bearded, classically idealized effigy in high relief against a polished field. The legend REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN arcs along the left periphery, while the denomination 2500 FRANCS CFA appears to the right. The date 2016 is inscribed prominently in the lower field beneath the portrait. The inscription Ag 999 denotes the silver fineness of the coin. |

Cameroon's modern collector issues of this type are produced by the Bavarian State Mint on contract — a common arrangement for African nations whose own minting infrastructure doesn't support precious-metal commemorative production. The "Running" designation places this within a series of motion-themed pieces that circulated as legal tender in name only; no example has ever approached a cash register in Douala.
The gold-over-silver bimetallic plating technique used here was gaining traction among third-party mint programs around 2014–2016 as a cost-effective premium finish, walking the line between silver bullion and gold appeal without committing to either.
