Additional information

Cameroon's modern collector issues of this type are produced by the Bavarian State Mint on contract — a common arrangement for African nations whose own minting infrastructure doesn't support precious-metal commemorative production. The "Running" designation places this within a series of motion-themed pieces that circulated as legal tender in name only; no example has ever approached a cash register in Douala.

The gold-over-silver bimetallic plating technique used here was gaining traction among third-party mint programs around 2014–2016 as a cost-effective premium finish, walking the line between silver bullion and gold appeal without committing to either.
