| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse depicts a finely sculpted Shar-Pei dog in repose, facing right, rendered in high relief with meticulous detailing of the breed's characteristic deep skin folds and wrinkles across the body. The dog is set against a backdrop of elegantly engraved magnolia branches in full bloom, their petals rendered in delicate relief filling the scalloped field. In the lower right of the field, a red-enamelled square cartouche bears the Chinese character 狗 (dog) in gold, providing a vivid chromatic accent to the otherwise golden composition. The engraver's initials CRR appear incuse in the lower centre of the field. |
