Obverse description The obverse features the mature effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, depicted at 77 years of age, bare-headed and facing right, wearing a necklace and earrings. The portrait is rendered in high relief, consistent with the Susanna Blunt effigy used on Canadian coinage from 2003 onward. The sovereign's name and regal titles appear in the surrounding legend, along with the denomination and date. The field is polished to a mirror-like proof finish, enhancing the sculptural quality of the portrait.

Additional information

The Seven Years War ended with the 1763 Treaty of Paris, which transferred New France to Britain — a territorial shift that permanently reoriented the political character of what would become Canada. France had chosen to recover Guadeloupe rather than Quebec at the negotiating table, a decision debated bitterly in Paris for decades afterward.

This is one of the RCM's kilogram gold issues, produced in extremely limited quantities as a prestige collectible rather than anything approaching circulation. At this weight and fineness, the gold value alone places it well beyond numismatic discussion for most collectors.
