| 表面の説明 | At centre, the national emblem of Mongolia — a soyombo device surmounted by a flaming torch, flanked by stylised wings and resting on a lotus base within a circular gear border — occupies the field. The legend MONGOLIA runs vertically along the upper right in Latin script, accompanied by the Mongolian script inscription running vertically to the right of the emblem. The denomination 250 appears in large numerals below the emblem, and the inscription 5 OZ FINE SILVER 999 is incused along the lower rim. |

Mongolia's large-format silver issues of the early 1990s were produced as the country navigated its post-communist transition, and the Lunar series to which this piece belongs was minted almost entirely for the export collector market — virtually none re-entered domestic circulation. The 155-gram planchet required specialized pressing equipment that the Mongolian State Mint did not itself operate at the time; production was almost certainly contracted to a European facility.
