Obverse description Central field features the national emblem of Mongolia, comprising a rectangular cartouche surmounted by the traditional soyombo symbol — incorporating a flame, sun, crescent, and yin-yang motif — flanked on either side by symmetrical olive branches. A ribbon scroll at the base of the emblem bears the Cyrillic legend МОНГОЛУЛС (Mongolia). The date 1992 appears in the lower field below the emblem. The coin's border is defined by a continuous beaded rim.

Reverse description The reverse depicts two wolves in a naturalistic rocky landscape: a larger wolf stands atop a rock formation with head raised, howling upward, while a second wolf stands at its side facing right.
