| Beschrijving voorzijde | At center, the stylized emblem of the Bank of Mongolia — a soyombo-crowned cartouche enclosing the Cyrillic inscription 'Монгол Банк' (Bank of Mongolia) above a decorative lotus-petal base — is rendered in high relief against a polished field. Flanking the central emblem to the left and right are vertical Mongolian script inscriptions reading 'Монгол Улс' (Mongolia). Below the emblem, the face value '250 ТӨГРӨГ' is inscribed in large bold characters. Along the lower periphery, the legend 'MONGOLIA 15.5gr 925 SILVER' identifies the issuer, metallic weight, and fineness. The entire design is enclosed by a serrated border of fine triangular denticles. |

Part of a twelve-coin zodiac series issued by the Bank of Mongolia beginning in the mid-2000s, these pieces were struck for the international collector market rather than domestic circulation — Mongolia's actual circulating coinage ran to far lower denominations. The Sagittarius issue, like others in the set, was produced at a foreign mint under contract, a common arrangement for Mongolian commemoratives of this period given the country's limited domestic minting infrastructure.
