Additional information

Mongolia's commemorative program of the mid-1990s was largely driven by export demand rather than domestic circulation — these silver pieces were struck for the international collector market and never meaningfully entered Mongolian commerce. The Bank of Mongolia leaned heavily on the 1996 Atlanta Games as a licensing opportunity, issuing multiple sports-themed pieces across 1994–1995 well ahead of the Games themselves.

KM#112 is one of several types in the series; mintages across the Atlanta Olympic issues from this issuer were modest, and many were distributed through European coin dealers rather than through Mongolian channels.
