The coins were authorized and distributed entirely through foreign licensing arrangements, with no meaningful connection to Somali monetary infrastructure. The Royal Wedding in question is that of Infanta Elena of Spain to Jaime de Marichalar, which took place in Seville on March 18, 1995.
