| Additional information |
Somalia's "wildlife" coinage of the 2000s was not issued by the Somali government in any functional sense — the country had no effective central authority during this period. These pieces were produced under license arrangements by private minting interests, typically European, exploiting Somalia's nominal sovereign status to issue legal-tender collector coins with no connection to the Somali economy. The Rottweiler belongs to a dog-breed subseries within that broader program.
KM#151 is cataloged by Krause, but provenance of the actual striking facility has not been definitively established in the standard literature.
