Obverse description Central design features a traditional Nepalese tantric yantra or royal cipher composed of interlocking rectangular panels arranged in a cruciform pattern, containing the royal name and titles of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in Devanagari script. Four auspicious Hindu symbols — a conch shell, a lotus flower, a ceremonial sceptre, and a sun — occupy the cardinal quadrants flanking the central device. The Bikram Sambat regnal year 2039 appears in Devanagari numerals at the base. A beaded inner border and dotted outer border frame the entire design, with the honorific legend 'श्री श्री' visible at the top.
