Obverse description Conjoined busts of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and Queen Aishwarya Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah facing right, rendered in low relief against a mirror-polished field. The King wears a traditional Nepali crown and glasses, while the Queen is depicted with ornamental headwear and jewelry. Four royal symbols — a sun, a conch shell, a lotus blossom, and a ceremonial mace — are positioned in the four cardinal quadrants surrounding the busts. A circular Devanagari legend naming both sovereigns runs along the periphery, enclosed within an outer border of raised beads.
