| Obverse description | Central field features a large stylized Chinese dragon rendered in polished relief against a vivid multicolored enamel background of auspicious clouds in red, purple, yellow, and green, occupying the right half of the design. To the upper left, a smaller dragon head and sinuous body extend across the uncolored gold field. At upper left, the Chinese inscription 中國澳門 (China Macau) appears in two vertical columns. The denomination 250圓 and the word PATACAS are inscribed in the left field, with the cyclical year inscription 壬辰年 and the Gregorian year 2012 below. The legend MACAU, CHINA appears along the lower rim in Latin characters. |
