| Aanvullende informatie |
Senegal is a member of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, whose common currency — the CFA franc — has been pegged to the euro since 1999 and to the French franc before that. The issuing authority for collector pieces like this one is effectively routed through Paris; Senegal itself has no mint. These fractional gold issues are produced almost entirely for the international bullion collector market and would be functionally unrecognizable as currency within Dakar.
