| Reverse description | A large stylized brilliant-cut diamond dominates the central field, rendered in geometric outline with facet lines converging toward a central point of light, evoking the classic round brilliant cut. The word DIAMOND arcs along the upper legend in bold raised lettering. The inscription 1/2 G .999 FINE GOLD appears in small characters to the left of the central device, while the date 2018 is placed along the lower rim. The design is set against a deeply mirrored proof field that enhances the contrast between the polished surfaces and the incuse facet lines of the diamond motif. |

Senegal has not issued its own coinage since joining the West African CFA franc zone — all circulating currency is produced by the BCEAO on behalf of eight member states collectively. This piece exists entirely outside that system, struck for the international collector market by a private mint operating under a licensing arrangement rather than any central bank mandate. The "250 Francs CFA" denomination is a legal fiction; no such coin circulates in Dakar or anywhere else.
