| Obverse description | The obverse features a bisected composition divided diagonally into a frosted proof field on the left and a mirrored field on the right. In the upper left quadrant, the national coat of arms of Cape Verde is depicted, consisting of a circular shield charged with a torch above a black and white striped segment, flanked by olive branches and surmounted by a ring of stars, with the legend REPUBLICA DE CABO VERDE encircling the emblem. To the right, a tall stylized independence monument or obelisk rises prominently on a stepped plinth, rendered with fine detail against the polished field.
