Reverse description The reverse presents a boldly rendered coiled serpent in high relief, its body encircling the central field against a background of stylized clouds and a radiating sun, executed in a traditional Chinese artistic style. To the left of the serpent, the Chinese cyclical characters 辛巳, denoting the year of the Snake in the sexagenary cycle, appear in large script. The denomination $250 is inscribed prominently in the lower central field, with the legend 1 TROY OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD along the lower rim. An engraver's monogram is visible in the lower central area beneath the serpent's coils.
