| 背面描述 | A faithful reproduction of William Wyon's celebrated 'Una and the Lion' design, originally created for the 1839 British Five Pound gold proof coin. The figure of Una, draped in classical robes and wearing a crown, is depicted standing to the left, her right hand resting gently on the mane of a walking lion. She holds a sceptre in her left hand. The composition is presented on a raised base, with the Latin legend 'DIRIGE DEUS GRESSUS MEOS.' (May God direct my steps) arcing around the upper field. Below the base the Roman numeral date 'MDCCCXXXIX.' (1839) appears, and beneath it the engraver's signature 'W. WYON. R. A.' The entire design is enclosed within a fine beaded border. |
