| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Susan Taylor, set against a finely detailed honeycomb-patterned field. The Queen is depicted wearing a necklace and earring, her hair arranged in her characteristic coiffure. The circumferential legend reads 'ELIZABETH II' to the left, 'CANADA 2018' at the top, and 'D·G·REGINA' to the right. The denomination '250 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower rim. A small engraver's mark appears at the base of the bust. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Canada's "Dinosaur" series from the Royal Canadian Mint has leaned heavily on paleontological nationalism — and with some justification. The first near-complete T. rex skeleton, "Sue" notwithstanding, was excavated in Alberta's Dinosaur Provincial Park, and Canadian institutions hold some of the most significant tyrannosaur specimens in the world. This $250 kilo issue sits within a collector market that has grown increasingly competitive for RCM ultra-high-relief silver, with secondary prices routinely outpacing issue price within the first year of sellout.
Mintage on RCM kilo silvers of this type was capped at 500 pieces globally.
