Obverse description The obverse features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as engraved by Susan Taylor, with selective gold plating applied to the portrait, lending it a warm, lustrous contrast against the mirror-polished silver field. The Queen is depicted with her characteristic pearl necklace and neatly coiffed hair, rendered in fine relief. A geometric crosshatch pattern radiates across the upper field, adding decorative depth to the design. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left rim, with 250 DOLLARS continuing to the upper right, while D·G·REGINA curves along the right side. The date 2016 appears in the lower exergue, and the engraver's initials SB are visible at the base of the portrait.
