| Obverse description | The diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces to the right in the lower left field, bearing the engraver's initials IRB beneath the truncation. Dominating the centre of the coin, a highly detailed high-relief depiction of the Leaning Tower of Pisa rises prominently, rendered with meticulous architectural precision to convey its characteristic incline and Romanesque arcaded galleries. To the right, a partial facade of the adjacent Pisa Cathedral is engraved in fine relief, further enriching the architectural composition.
