| Popis rubu | The reverse features an elaborate jewelled design inspired by the Vladimir Tiara, historically set with the Cambridge emeralds and associated with Queen Elizabeth II. Created in collaboration with renowned jeweller Steve Thompson of Thompson S.D. Jewellers Ltd., the composition integrates gem-setting directly into the coining process, resulting in diamonds arranged in circular clusters each surrounding a central emerald. Ninety engraved circles encircle the central motif, one for each year of the Queen's life, in commemoration of her 90th birthday. The double-dated inscription 1926-2016 flanks the central design, with the legend 250 DOLLARS CANADA appearing in the peripheral field. |
