| Reverse description | Two highly detailed Chinese imperial dragons face one another in dynamic confrontation across the central field, their sinuous scaled bodies intertwining against a finely stippled ground enclosed within a scalloped decorative border. A flaming pearl or orb is suspended between the two dragons at the center of the composition, a traditional symbol of wisdom and power in East Asian iconography. The Chinese character 龍 (dragon) is inscribed in the lower central field beneath the pearl. The legend ONE OUNCE .9999 FINE GOLD arcs along the lower periphery in raised Latin letters. |
