| Obverse description | The Public Seal of Niue occupies the central field, depicted as a circular medallion featuring a stylised coconut palm tree, surmounted by a royal crown above and flanked on either side by a wreath of elongated leaves. Below the seal, two crossed traditional Niuean clubs support a scroll bearing the motto ATUA NIUE TUKULAGI in raised lettering. The legend PUBLIC SEAL OF NIUE arcs around the upper portion of the seal. The denomination 250 DOLLARS and the date 2023 are inscribed in large raised characters along the upper rim of the coin. |

| Reverse description | A highly detailed, high-relief depiction of an octopus dominates the field, its mantle and eight sinuous tentacles rendered with naturalistic precision, showing rows of suckers clearly articulated along the underside of each arm. The creature is shown amid a seabed setting with coral formations and rocky substrate rendered in fine relief in the lower field. The series title OCEAN FIVE arcs along the upper left rim, accompanied by decorative dot elements. Along the right rim, rotated vertically, appears the inscription 2oz Au 999.9 along with the LEV mint mark. The date 2023 and the individual edition number 01/50 are inscribed in a rectangular cartouche at the base of the design. |
