| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a highly detailed aerial-perspective relief depiction of Rarotonga, the national capital island of the Cook Islands, rendered in vivid applied colour. The island's mountainous, vegetation-covered interior is depicted in deep green tones with intricate topographic relief, encircled by a narrow coral reef rendered in pale aqua, all set against a richly coloured iridescent blue field representing the surrounding Pacific Ocean. The gold field visible at the upper and lower margins carries cartographic dashed coordinate lines, framing the composition in a map-chart aesthetic. The legend RAROTONGA arcs along the upper rim and NATIONAL CAPITAL along the lower rim, both incused in the polished gold border. |

The Cook Islands has operated one of the more prolific bullion and commemorative programs in the Pacific since the 1970s, issuing coinage under New Zealand's currency umbrella while retaining full authority over its numismatic output. This 2025 issue is among the first Cook Islands gold to bear Charles III's effigy following the transition from Elizabeth II — a changeover that required new obverse dies across dozens of active programs simultaneously.
