Obverse description The national coat of arms of Belize is depicted centrally, featuring a quartered shield supported by two woodcutters standing on either side, the dexter supporter holding an axe over his shoulder and the sinister holding a paddle. The shield bears crossed tools above a sailing ship, surmounted by a mahogany tree. Below the shield, a scroll carries the national motto SUB UMBRA FLOREO. The entire device is encircled by a wreath of laurel branches. The legend BELIZE arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 250 DOLLARS appears in the lower field, all within a beaded border.
