Additional information

The Imperial State Crown depicted here is the version reset in 1937 for George VI's coronation, incorporating stones with histories stretching back centuries — including the Black Prince's Ruby, which is actually a spinel and was reputedly worn by Henry V at Agincourt. Canada has issued tribute coinage to the Crown since Confederation, but the RCM's ultra-high-relief bullion tributes of the 2020s reflect a deliberate pivot toward collector premiums over face-value circulation products, as mintage figures for circulating Canadian gold coinage had effectively collapsed into irrelevance.
