Struck to mark the ninth anniversary of Mohammed VI's accession following the death of Hassan II in July 1999, this issue falls into a pattern Bank Al-Maghrib established of commemorating the king's reign in five-year increments — making the ninth-year choice somewhat irregular and worth noting.
